Worth it..

There are many times I catch myself saying, "it's worth it!" Here are a few things I will always feel are worth it...

1. Febreeze Noticeables- no other room fresheners compare
2. Quality furniture- especially the kind you sit on
3. Blue Bell- because no other ice cream compares
4. Leather seats- because once you have hiney warmers you can't go without them
5. Coffeemate Creamer- thanks Mer for turning me on to this snobery
6. Front Loading washer/dryer- because I truly feel it makes clothes cleaner
7. Liquid Fabric Softener- because the sheets don't cut it
8. A nice camera- because memories are priceless
9. Reynold's non-stick aluminum foil- thanks to Marn for this particular snobery
10. Good insurance- this is a no-brainer, if you can get USAA you should!
11. KRAFT mac and cheese- because Laura Lynn just don't get it
12. Lawn service- because a first impression is important
13. Traveling to Europe- because Disney's castle is lame
14. A quality mattress- because a good night's (or day) sleep is sooo important
15. Time spent cutting/planning coupons- with well over $1,000 saved this year... duh!

Now here are a few things that aren't worth it (to me)...
1. Name brand: sour cream, butter, bleach, and milk (and several more)
2. Pedicures- because I can paint my own toes
3. Expensive jeans- because $30 is plenty
4. Starbucks- because McDonald's isn't half bad
5. Scrapbooking- atleast the old fashioned way, shutterfly books are the way to go!
6. TV- because I have better things to do with my time, but Bo won't let me cancel it

The Good With the Bad

The current news in the Washington household is that we are living in COMPLETE disaray. We decided to lay hardwood floors throughout the house. After getting a steal of a deal on some beautiful hardwood we were told Thursday evening that we would have someone here on Saturday to lay the floors. In order to save money...we pulled up the carpet and original hardwood ourselves. So, in order for them to "start on Saturday" we CLEARED the house (see photo)

So who showed up Saturday?? Ummm, no one! So not only did I miss out going to the Georgia game for nothing I couldn't even stay home and get any work done. I didn't feel as though Brynn should eat any of the staples laying around on the floor. I begged the man we are working with to call everyone he knew that had the slightest idea as to how to lay hardwood. No luck. So after spending the day with my mother in law and Brynn we came home to a completely empty house with no floors. Sunday morning we got up and went to church after corralling Brynn on the bed while we each got ready. We spent the day at the lake with the Brooks and Taylors (a BIG thanks to them for letting us crash their party) in order to stay away from the disaray.

While at the lake on a moving boat Brynn accomplished to stand up without pulling up on anything all by herself! This was a very exciting moment that caused me to scream outloud, scaring everyone around me. It is so fun how each milestone this baby accomplishes completely excites me.

A different (hopefully more dependable) crew of men are supposed to show up tomorrow morning at 9 am. I have already instructed MaryLynn that if she doesn't see any action at my house in the morning she needs to call the police, and a psychiatrist. Most of you probably can imagine what this chaos is doing to me, although it's a small price to pay for the end result.

Kicking and Screaming

So here I am being dragged kicking and screaming to blog. Well, anyone who knows me knows you can't really make me do anything I don't want to do, nor stop me from doing something I want to do.
I've never been a journal keeper, but I decided there are too many precious, funny, and memorable moments these days. I am likely to forget them all if I don't put them in writing somewhere! As a nurse, I find the mind is quick to go.
I apologize ahead of time for my poor writing skills. Maybe my sense of humor can mask my lack of talent! I do know that either way I will be able to look back for years to come and enjoy remembering the timeless moments my sweet girls give me everyday. So here goes nothing!
